Wouldnt it be nice to have onion soup mix available in your cupboard whenever you needed it? Or a mix to make tomato soup on a cold rainy day? Join the Master Food Preservers of El Dorado County and learn to make your own dehydrated soup and spice mixes.

This class will bring you up to date on the latest process recommendations, teach you how to process your food safely and explain the reasons behind the process. You will learn what equipment is needed and proper storage methods.

Join the UCCE Master Food Preservers for their monthly general Q&A session. A panel of volunteers specializing in freezing, dehydrating, canning and food safety will be available to answer your questions, share their tips and encourage you to safely preserve food at home.

Details: 9am-12pm Pickling workshop. Learn about growing your own vegetables and make dill carrot pickles to take home. 1pm-4pm Fermentation workshop. Learn about the importance of soil health in the garden, and make your own sauerkraut. $25 each session, or $40 for both.

Make Sauerkraut at this in-person, hands-on class. When: Wednesday, March 20. Two sessions, choose one: 10 AM till Noon 2 till 4 PM Fee: $30 for you and up to 2 guests.

In this Make and Take workshop you will learn how to make Ricotta and Mozzarella cheese in time to use it for your lasagna dinner. It is a quick and easy process once you understand the basics.
