The UC Master Gardeners of Shasta County offer free classes, workshops, and events throughout the year. Our programs are designed for home gardeners of all experience levels - whether you're just starting your first vegetable garden or you've been gardening in Shasta County for decades, there's something for you.
Our events include hands-on workshops on topics like pruning fruit trees, growing vegetables in our Mediterranean climate, composting, and water-wise landscaping. We also offer garden tours of local demonstration gardens and private gardens, plant sales featuring locally adapted varieties, and seasonal classes on timely topics. Most of our workshops are free, though some classes may have a small materials fee.
