Instructors are UC Master Gardeners and UC Master Food Preservers Location: Bethell-Delfino Ag Building 311 Fair Lane, Placerville Fee: Free! Master Gardeners and Master Food Preservers combine their knowledge in this class on berries.

In this hands-on class, youll be instructed on safe methods to preserve jam (full sugar, low sugar, sugar substitute, and no sugar varieties will all be discussed). While the jam is in the canner, youll learn about dehydrating herbs and develop your own herbal tea blend.

Youth ages 5-18 are invited to come make three jars of a jam or jelly of their choice (apple, strawberry, peach or grape), then take one home and enter the other two in the 2024 El Dorado County Fair! Bring your own fruit and the Master Food Preservers will provide everything else.

A regular workday at the demo garden on Thursdays, 11am to 1pm. The gate will indeed be open and members of the public are welcome to drop in and enjoy the garden and ask for advice. There will be public demos and plant sales. Share in garden produce, free seed exchange and local gardening advice.

A hands-on cheese-making workshop $50/person, paid in advance Register: https://ucanr.edu/saycheese24 Class size is limited to 8 participants. Pre-registration and payment are required to reserve your seat. Refund requests must be made at least 72 hours prior to the event.

Gifts from the Kitchen. Made by You! Join the UC Master Food Preservers for demonstrations and hands-on experience making your own gifts from the kitchen! Directions, recipes and take-home gifts will be provided. Registration required and space is limited.
