UC Master Gardeners of Tulare and Kings County

Ask a Master Gardener

Have a question about your garden? The UC Master Gardeners of Tulare/Kings Counties are here to help! Our trained volunteers provide free, research-based advice on all aspects of home gardening. We can help you identify plant problems, recommend varieties that thrive in our zones 9a-9b climate, suggest water-wise landscaping strategies, and answer questions about everything from fruit trees to roses to vegetable gardens.

Getting help is easy—you can reach us by email, phone, or by filling out our online form. We provide free, research-based advice on fruit and vegetable growing, pest and disease identification, lawn and landscape care, soil and composting, water-efficient gardening, and plant selection for Tulare/Kings Counties' Mediterranean climate. For immediate help, call our helpline during office hours, visit us at any of our outreach events, where you can bring samples and photos for diagnosis. You can also bring your samples to our UCCE offices in Kings and Tulare Counties between 8 am and 5 pm Monday - Friday.

Please note that we focus on home gardening questions. We're not able to provide advice for large-scale commercial operations, identify mushrooms for consumption, or make landscape design visits to private properties. But if your question is about growing food, managing pests, improving soil, or cultivating a beautiful home garden here in Tulare/Kings Counties, we're ready to help!
