It has been 5+ years since our show, In The Garden with UC Master Gardeners, has produced a show on the topic of Hydroponics.
Since then, the Master Gardeners (MG) of Orange County has formed a Hydroponics Team where there wasn’t one previously! Sally Richards, past Radio Team show host and Hydroponics expert/hobbyist, joins us in the studio today (November 20th, 2025) to give an update on how quickly the Team has grown! Almost as fast as a Hydroponically-grown lettuce plant! 😊 Year-round venues featuring hydroponic systems to view by the public are few and far between. The Team has been active in updating the Great Park Farm and Food Lab’s system to a “wicking” system. We will talk about that in today’s show. Plus, a brand-new venue will be built from scratch down in San Clemente at the Bella Colina Golf Course and Sally will tell you more about this really exciting opportunity for public engagement!
