About the Event

Protect your spring and summer vegetable garden with practical, environmentally sound pest management strategies. In this third class of our Vegetable Growing series, you’ll learn to identify common garden pests — from insects and other invertebrates to vertebrate visitors — and recognize the type of damage they cause.

We’ll help you distinguish between harmful pests and beneficial organisms, focus on prevention first, and choose least-harmful control options you can use confidently in your own garden. Through real examples and clear guidance, Monterey Bay Master Gardeners will show you how to address problems early while caring for the soil, wildlife, and watershed we all share.

Come prepared to manage pests thoughtfully — and effectively.
