Winters Community Library Teaching Garden – Annual Plant Sale
About the Event
Find your gardener heart’s desire at the UC Master Gardeners of Yolo County plant sale at the Winters Community Library Teaching Garden. The sale will feature plants from Morningstar Herb Farm of Vacaville in addition to plants propagated by UC Master Gardeners of Yolo County and community volunteers. The plants offered for sale provide habitat for pollinators (bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds) and birds and will include a variety of dwarf butterfly bushes, lavenders, ornamental sages, culinary herbs, and various California native plants. For succulent aficionados, Sharon Bloom, “The Succulent Lady”, will have boxed succulents by the dozen and individual plants for sale in addition to her handmade ceramic planters. The Winters High School Agriculture Class and the FFA will sell vegetable starts and hanging baskets filled with flowers.
The Winters Community Library Teaching Garden has been selected as a site for the 2026 garden tour of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the California Native Plant Society for their Gardens Got Natives Tour. The garden will be open from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM for the 2026 Gardens Got Natives Tour. The focus of our teaching garden is on the use of low water-use plants and plants that provide year-round habitat for pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds as well as habitat for all wildlife species. The garden hosts a total of 130 plant species of which 65 are California natives. For more information about the tour sites and free registration may be found on their web site: https://sacvalleycnps.org/gardens-gone-native-tour/
