California Tree School: Humboldt Session
About the Event
Join UC ANR Forest Stewardship and College of the Redwoods for a day of forestry education like no other!
California Tree School: Humboldt Session is a unique forestry, fire, and natural resources education event offered in Eureka, CA. Throughout the day, attendees will take 4 classes led by UC ANR academics and connect with fellow forestry enthusiasts.
Classes at the Humboldt Session include: DIY Mass Timber Panels, Forest Inventory, Forest Mushroom Identification, Oak Woodland Management, and Wood-Fired Ceramics on Forested Land.
WHO CAN ATTEND CA TREE SCHOOL?
CA Tree School is an event for forest landowners, early career professionals, college students, and anyone interested in natural resources. No prior experience with forestry, fire, or natural resources is necessary.
This event is open to anyone in California- not only Humboldt County residents!
Please note that this event is for participants age 15+.
HOW TO REGISTER
- Explore the Humboldt Session Class Catalog, and keep a pen and paper handy. The registration form will ask you to select your top 2 classes for each block (4 blocks, 8 classes in total).
- Fill out the registration form. Payment via credit card or check will be required to submit your registration. Scholarships are available.
Register early, as classes may fill before the April 3 registration deadline.
Need based scholarships are available. Please reach out to Kim Ingram at kcingram@ucanr.edu to request a scholarship.

Other Details
Are you interested in volunteering at CA Tree School? Session volunteers are needed to assist Forest Stewardship staff with various event operations (registration table, directing participants to classes, event setup and takedown). Volunteers attend 2 CA Tree School classes for free!
