Southern California Urban Wildlife Management

In Southern California, human-wildlife conflicts include increasingly critical issues, such as negative impacts of wild or feral mammals and birds in agricultural production, food safety, public health and safety, forestry, and natural resource conservation. The Human-Wildlife Interactions program facilitates the exchange of information among UCCE advisors, campus-based academics, and community stakeholders.

Urban Forestry and Pest Management

The Urban Forestry team provides guidance to public and private entities on how to implement integrated pest management programs to deal with tree pests. They work together with landscape managers to find solutions that minimize the use of pesticides while providing effective management.

Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program

EFNEP is a federally-funded program that offers nutrition education to limited-resource families and children. The goals include providing information about food choices for healthy living and reduced risk for chronic diseases, safe food handling, storage and preparation, and making the most of resources to feed the family.
