Post-Fire Forest Resilience Program

UC Cooperative Extension's Post-Fire Forest Resilience Program assists and educates private forest landowners following catastrophic wildfire. The Program, funded by the USDA Forest Service, provides post-fire education through workshops, developing and sharing educational materials, and assessing landowner needs and the effectiveness of post-fire landowner assistance programs. Though we are currently not offering additional in-person workshops, UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) has developed a new online, self-paced educational program that will launch May 1, 2026. Each course module highlights a specific post-fire management topic and includes clear explanations, photos, videos, and additional resources for those who want to explore further.
This new online program will provide landowners with the fundamental knowledge needed to understand their post-fire forest management goals and objectives. With this foundation, landowners can more confidently connect and network with local resource professionals. These connections help guide recovery efforts and support long-term forest resilience. Post-Fire Forest Management Factsheets
UC Cooperative Extension's Post-Fire Forest Resilience Program has created a series of factsheets to provide landowners and land managers with an overview of specific post-fire topics such as reforestation, managing vegetation, and safety. All fact sheets have been produced and internally reviewed by UC ANR forestry and natural resource advisors. To access these factsheets, please visit the UC Forestry Research and Outreach Website.
