Try AI Role-Play Tools (LinkedIn Learning)

If you haven’t explored it yet, LinkedIn Learning now has AI-powered role-play simulations that let you safely practice real workplace conversations — like giving feedback, coaching or handling conflict — with instant coaching in the moment.

  • It’s a fast, low-risk way to build communication confidence and get personalized feedback without needing to schedule time with another person.

Experiment with one of the AI role-play scenarios — it’s a great way to strengthen skills before trying them live. Request your LinkedIn Learning account by contacting UC ANR IT - help@ucanr.edu.

AI Role Play

How to access AI Role Play in LinkedIn Learning (no images needed)

  1. Go to LinkedIn Learning and open any course where practice or application is included — for example a course related to leadership, communication, coaching or interviewing.
  2. In the table of contents on the left, look for a section labeled “Practice,” “Simulation,” or “AI Role Play.” It usually has a small icon next to it.
  3. Click on that item — it will open a new panel on the right side of your screen.
  4. You’ll see a prompt that says something like “Start AI Role Play” or “Practice with AI.” Select it.
  5. The AI will play a scenario with you — you can respond by voice or by typing depending on what it allows.
  6. When you finish the scenario, LinkedIn Learning will give you feedback instantly and allow you to try again or adjust your approach.
