You all are dedicated and passionate about pursuing academic or vocational education at a higher level. See the stupendous recipients below. This scholarship is given to students pursuing any field of scholastic endeavor.

Editor's Note: At this time of year, Senior 4-H'ers are graduating out of high school and into their next step in life.

Nutrition Policy Institute, in collaboration with the Dolores Huerta Foundation, Cultiva La Salud, and Stanford Pediatrics, released three infographics with information on school meal programs.

The CA 4-H Golden Clover Awards recognize outstanding achievements of members, volunteers, program staff, and groups within the University of California 4-H Youth Development Program. This 4-H year, we awarded nine awards to youth, adults, and groups.

It was all the buzz. Thousands of bee and honey enthusiasts made a beeline for the California Honey Festival, held last Saturday on the Yolo County Fairgrounds.

The Haven was created in 2009: we celebrate our 15th anniversary this year. I joined the garden in 2012 and was tasked with creating an outreach and education program. Tours, social media pages, classes, and this blog soon followed.

Volunteering may be the answer to bringing people together, in a time where there seems to be more division than ever. The Census Bureau and AmeriCorps report that while formal volunteering rates have declined, informal volunteering rates have remained steady.

They are considered the backbone of any nonprofit organization. They strongly believe in the objectives of the institution in which they invest their time. Of course, I am talking about volunteersthe special people who are motivated to change the communities where they live.
