To minimize food waste, three experts explore factors influencing food loss and waste, delve into innovative recycling techniques, and explore statewide initiatives targeting household food waste.
Full Course Website: https://calnat.ucanr.edu/Take_a_class/Inland_Mendocino/ The 40 hour course combines a science curriculum with guest lecturers, field trips and project-based learning to explore the unique ecology and natural history of inland Mendocino County.
A regular workday at the demo garden on Thursdays, 11am to 1pm. The gate will indeed be open and members of the public are welcome to drop in and enjoy the garden and ask for advice. There will be public demos and plant sales. Share in garden produce, free seed exchange and local gardening advice.
Instructor: Barbara Brydon Location: LOCATION CHANGE: Bethell-Delfino Agriculture Building 311 Fair Lane, Placerville. Fee: Free! Pre-registration is required! After learning some basics about parts and needs of plants, children will plant a succulent cutting in a small pot.
