From cavies to chili to chocoflan... Thirteen-year-old Celeste Harrison, a fourth-year member of the Sherwood Forest 4-H Club, Vallejo, shares her expertise about chili and cavies (guinea pigs), but she's also a pro in the kitchen and at making a dessert called Chocoflan. It's part cake, part flan.

The 2019 Ventura County 4-H Food Faire was held on Saturday, February 2nd at Will Rogers Elementary School in Ventura. Nineteen members participated from three clubs: Conejo-Simi, Loma Vista, and Somis. There were three food categories to enter: main dish, appetizer, and dessert.

The National 4-H Council has named Elisabeth Watkins of San Joaquin County the winner of the 2019 4-H Youth in Action Award for Healthy Living. She will receive a $5,000 scholarship for higher education and will serve as an advocate and spokesperson for 4-H Healthy Living programming.
