It was a true honor to be able to speak about 4-H to the CAPS TV viewers. I was excited to work with Shelby Wright, Ventura County 4-H Ambassador and Adler Streigel of Loma Vista 4-H, an active member in local, area and state events.
Jefferson Ready recently held a carnival full of games, music and folklorico dancing. UC CalFresh had fun with students shooting pool noodle arrows trying to hit the 5 food group targets. Each attempt earned tickets for a drawing of books to read over the summer.

Hear that buzz? Today is World Bee Day! We celebrate honey bees every day, but they are especially celebrated on May 20, World Bee Day. It's an annual day to raise awareness about the importance of bees and beekeeping.
"You can learn a lot from these displays," a fairgoer at the 144th annual Dixon May Fair commented. She was looking at an educational display with the catchy title, "None of Your Beeswax," the work of Ryan Anenson of the Tremont 4-H Club, Dixon, whose projects include beekeeping.
What's a fair without insects? Entomologists at the University of California, Davis, will share their love of insects with fairgoers at the 144th annual Dixon May Fair, which opened today (Thursday, May 9) and continues through Sunday, May 12.
