Socorro de Figueiredo

Socorro de Figueiredo is honored to serve Tulare County communities as the 4-H Community Education Specialist with UC Cooperative Extension. With over seven years of experience in education and community engagement, she brings a passion for inclusive, bilingual (Spanish/English) programming that connects people to land, culture, and community through hands-on, place-based learning.
Before joining UC Cooperative Extension, Socorro served as Education Programs Manager at Golden Gate National Recreation Area and has worked at Yosemite and Grand Teton National Parks. Her background includes leading curriculum development and education programs reaching hundreds of students and families. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Ecology and Evolution.
When she’s not out in the community or exploring local landscapes, you’ll likely find her tidepooling, cooking, or getting creative with scrapbooking and painting.
