Center Focus
Located on 114 acres of prime farmland in the Oxnard Plain, 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean, Hansen REC focuses on fruit, vegetable and nursery crop production in a Mediterranean climate. Research and extension activities include evaluation of new crops, crop varieties and horticultural methods; optimizing irrigation and nutrient management; integrated management of plant pests, diseases, and weeds; using cover crops to improve soil health and biodiversity, and organic production methods.
