4-H members entry fee is $10 for the first category, they may enter up to 2 additional categories at a $5.00 entry fee for each additional category (ie: 3 entries = $20, 2 entries = $15). 4H Competitors entering the in-person tournament will have lunch included for Sunday May 24th. Lunch will be available for leaders and families attending the event at a nominal fee for each person (to be determined). Dry camping or RV without hookups is available at no cost. The in-person tournament will be using whistle commands only and USAA timings. Please prepare 4-H youth for this type of command and time limitations. Entrants will shoot 18 arrows total (6 ends of 3 arrows each) at each of 3 distances and only score those 18 arrows.
For both the Postal and the in-person tournament - This is an 18 arrow event. There should only be 18 holes in each target. The same target will be moved and shot at each distance. All shooting must take place in the leader’s or match official’s presence.

About the Event
Welcome to the 5th Annual California State 4-H Archery Shooting Sports Hybrid Tournament, sponsored by the Merced County 4-H.
This is a hybrid tournament; there will be both a postal match and an in-person match for this tournament! The Postal targets must be return post marked by close of business May 26th due to the holiday and the in-person tournament will take place on Sunday May 24th.
This will not give any unfair extra practice time to either group. This schedule allows travel on Saturday and Monday of the Memorial Day weekend for those attending the in-person match. The in-person match will be at River Oaks Range in Merced County, 11584 N. Shaffer Rd, Winton, CA 95388.
Rules, entry forms and policies will be available March 6th via email to each county. They will also be on-line via the State Shooting Sports Website.
Registration is due on or before April 1st, 2026. Entry fees may be paid ONLY by check from the local 4-H council. Make checks payable to Merced County 4-H, and send to: Merced County 4-H, 2145 Wardrobe Ave, Merced, Ca 95341 with your club’s entry form.
