4-H Enrollment Information
Member Age Groups
- Primary Members: Ages 5 to 8
- Youth Members: Ages 9 to 18
Your “4-H age” is your age as of December 31 of the program year in which you enroll.
The Youth Member enrollment fee is $72.00 for the 2026-2027 program year.
Livestock Exhibitors: Youth members must be be enrolled in 4-H (with an "active" status) by December 1, 2026 to be eligible to show at their local county and/or state fair. "Livestock" includes ALL large and small animal species.

New Youth Members
Step 1: Choose a Club
Select a club in your area using the Nevada County 4-H club directory. You must choose at least one club when enrolling.
Step 2: Contact the Club
Contact the Club Leader or Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator (VEC) to learn more about the club and available projects.
Important: Contact the club before enrolling online. Clubs are not automatically notified when a new family enrolls.
Step 3: Choose a Project
Club leaders can tell you which projects are open. Enrollment follows the school year, and some projects fill quickly. Early enrollment is strongly encouraged.
Step 4: Create a ZSuite Account
Before attending your first meeting, create a family profile at ZSuite (opens in a new window) . You can add all youth members in your household.

Step 5: Pay Program Fees
Submit your enrollment fee online:

Note: A $3.00 credit card transaction fee will be added.
Step 6: Understand Project Costs
Families are responsible for project materials. Some projects may have additional fees. Check with your club or project leader before enrolling.
Step 7: Membership Activation
Once your membership is approved, your child may begin participating in 4-H activities.
If your child lives in a different county than where they participate, complete the required form:

Returning Youth Members
Current members can renew their enrollment through ZSuite (opens in a new window) .
Step 1: Update Enrollment
Select “Enroll for 2025–2026” for the returning member.
Step 2: Update Personal Information
Confirm that all contact information is correct, especially your email address. Email is the primary way you will receive important updates.
Step 3: Update Club and Project Selections
Select only the clubs and projects you will participate in. Remove any that no longer apply.
If participating in a different county, submit the required form each year:

Step 4: Pay Program Fees
Complete online payment (available after August 3 for youth members)

Step 5: Start Participating
Check your email for confirmation that your membership is active. Once confirmed, you may participate in 4-H activities.
Note: Financial assistance for enrollment fees is available. Fees may be reduced or waived for eligible youth. Please contact the 4-H office for further information.
