Whether you are a first-time gardener or looking to refine your mountain green thumb, this class covers the essential "Tahoe-specific" skills you need to thrive.
What We’ll Cover:
- The Foundation: Soil preparation, organic fertilizing, and techniques to protect our local watershed.
- The Toolbox: Essential gardening tools and the importance of record-keeping in a short season.
- The Tahoe Palette: Which edible varieties do well at our altitude.
- Beat the Frost: Master seed starting, the "hardening off" process, and techniques such as using cold frames and greenhouses to stretch your season.
- The Maintenance: Efficient irrigation strategies and managing pests without harming the ecosystem.
