Growing Orchids on the Sonoma Coast
About the Event
Orchids are the largest family of flowering plants in the world, with over 25,000 species found in nature, and probably in the order of 150,000 different hybrids. Many think orchids are difficult to grow, but with some basic information, anyone can be successful with growing orchids.
There are many orchids that can grow outside year-round on the coast where frost is uncommon.
This presentation will cover:
- Understanding the basic needs and care for growing most orchids at home.
- An introduction to the more common orchid groups that are possible to grow.
- Learning which types can grow outside here on the Sonoma Coast.
