About the Event
We are excited to announce a series of one day workshops focusing on virtual fencing. Workshops will cover different topics related to virtual fencing, including livestock management, funding opportunities, targeted grazing applications, and more. Please check back here about a month before the event for details of the topic. The workshop dates are:
Monday, March 2
Friday, May 8: Virtual fencing for sheep, including for targeted grazing, fuels reduction and weed control. The workshop will also cover technical/financial assistance available from NRCS.
Friday, August 14
Saturday, October 17
In this workshop you will learn from HREC staff and a Mendocino County rancher about what virtual fencing is, how it works, costs associated with getting it set up, and pros/cons of using virtual fence compared to barbed wire fence. There will be an optional field tour where we will look at a tower and discuss considerations for how to set up your fence boundaries. If you'd like to join the Field tour, please bring your own bagged lunch.
