Join UC Small Farms Network and Community Alliance with Family Farmers for a webinar discussion on their upcoming report “Managing Groundwater with Small Farms in Mind”. The report is based on three years of statewide research, surveys, focus group discussions, and document review with small-scale farmers.
This webinar discussion will highlight the risks, barriers, and opportunities for small farms in long-term groundwater management.
Webinar Objectives ● Provide a framework for considering small farms as solutions to long-term groundwater sustainability. ● Offer small-farmer considerations to locally driven programs, policies, and regulations. ● Inform local agencies and technical assistance providers of the technical services available to small-scale farmers across the state. ● Highlight resources and tools available to small-scale farmers in groundwater regulated subbasins.

- A tram ride around to field research trials on biodegradable plastic mulches.
- Hands-on training on Plastic Mulch Layers.
Important note: Growers who have completed the required F3 Local Equipment Lending Library classroom training may meet the hands-on training requirement for borrowing plastic mulch layers by attending this workshop. Classroom trainings are being offered on July 21 and July 23.
