DISCOVERING SPIRALS IN OUR GARDENS
August’s topic is spirals in our gardens. Join us as we discover the fascinating spiral shapes hidden 
throughout nature and learn why this pattern is so important in the natural world. 
Enjoy hands-on activities, close-up observations, and a fun garden-inspired craft to bring spirals to life.

Activities are once a month- 3:30-4:30 pm:
  •  Sunnyside Library: First Wednesday of the month.

  • Woodward Park Library:  First Thursday of the month.

  • SEPTEMBER

    ROCKS AND SOILS - MYSTERY UNDER OUR FEET
    This months topic is “Rocks and Soils - Mystery Under Our Feet”. Join us as we explore the important role rocks and soil play in our gardens. Through a fun lesson and hands-on demonstration we’ll discover the different characteristics of soil and observe a wide variety of rocks up close. Then we’ll get creative with a hands-on craft inspired by what we’ve learned! Come ready to learn, create, and uncover the hidden magic beneath our feet.

    • PLANT AND ANIMAL SKELETONS

    This months topic is “Plant and Animal Skeletons”. Join us to explore the hidden skeletons in your garden! Did you know plants have a kind of “skeleton” too—stems and roots that support their structure just like bones do for animals? Through a fun lesson and hands-on demonstration, we’ll discover both plant and animal skeletons and learn what makes each one special. Then we’ll get creative with a fun skeleton-inspired craft! Come ready to learn, create, and uncover the amazing world of plant and animal skeletons in our gardens.

    NOVEMBER

    WHO GREW MY PIZZA? 

    This months topic is an exploration of how our food is grown. Join us as we explore how our food is grown and all the people and steps involved in bringing it to our plates. Make the connection between pizza and the plants it comes from. Then we’ll get creative with a fun food-inspired craft! Come ready to learn, create, and discover the amazing world of growing food.
