  •  Grant Applications Due for Wolf Deterrent Tools  -  5 pm on Monday, August 24, 2026

The Sierra Valley Resource Conservation District (RCD) received funding from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to support efforts to reduce wolf-livestock conflict.  Under this grant, Sierra Valley RCD will collect applications from ranchers in Plumas and Sierra Counties who are interested in utilizing night vision binoculars as a tool to help detect wolf presence and deter livestock depredations. For questions about the application process, please email sierravalleyrcd@gmail.com.

If you would like assistance completing your application, you can contact Tracy Schohr UC Cooperative Extension Livestock and Natural Resources Advisor at tkschohr@ucanr.edu or 916-716-2643.
