Welcome! The UC Master Food Preservers of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties are trained volunteers who teach safe, validated home food preservation to our communities. 

Our UC Master Food Preserver mission is to keep Californians safe and well as they use culturally appropriate, research-based practices to safely preserve food in the home, reducing food waste, increasing food security, and providing engaging ways for Californians to explore healthy food.

Events

Our online and in-person events bring Cooperative Extension and public health agency research and guidance to the public, covering topics such as:  

  • Food safety
  • High-acid preservation- boiling water and steam canning
  • Making jams and jellies
  • Pickling
  • Dehydrating
  • Low-acid preservation- pressure canning
  • Cold storage, and more!

Interested in becoming a certified volunteer?  Joining our team of trained volunteers is rewarding in so many ways. As a UC Master Food Preserver, you'll receive extensive training alongside like-minded individuals and have the chance to share this knowledge to help your community.
