Strawberries and Caneberries

I have heard the opinion floated several times recently that the research of alternative pest control methods or materials can result in cancellation or limitation of existing pesticides.

Happy New Year all! We are spooling up quickly with our annual strawberry production meeting, and have the morning of February 2 blocked out for this event.

Just squeezed then one out right before the end of the year. Great work here with Jeremy Murdoch from the UC Agricultural Issues Center, and some real thorough input from local strawberry growers, who once again unselfishly committed their time and knowledge to updating this vital document.

As of today, December 17, the regulatory quarantine for LBAM has been lifted and the CDFA has initiated the repeal process of removing the California State Interior Quarantine for LBAM. The link to regulatory statement from the CDFA can be found here. https://content.govdelivery.

There are a still a few days left in this year, and educational programs are still continuing apace. The office of the Agricultural Commissioner in Santa Cruz County is having a class on Pesticide Laws and Regulations Continuing Education Class this Thursday Dec 16 on ZOOM.
