This time of year we are in the depths of harvest, from wild berries, orchard fruits to garden bounty, it can be overwhelming. I sometimes find myself wondering how to get the most fruits or vegetables into the smallest amount of space.

August, and we are in the middle of corn season, and who doesn't like corn? Even those who are not particularly fond of other vegetables often find corn to their liking. And there are many ways to take this garden or Farmer's market bounty and preserve it for the future.

Recently, the Master Gardeners program in Del Norte and Humboldt Counties launched a book club open to the general public through the Humboldt County Library virtual learning programming.
