As 2025 comes to a close, I want to thank each and every one of you for everything that you do for our communities all across California.
You are the reason we are able to share the latest science and develop the partnerships and programs that help solve many of our most pressing challenges – in agriculture, natural resources, community health, youth development, environmental stewardship and more!
I recognize that this past year brought its share of volatility, anxiety and stress, caused by changes in federal priorities, funding uncertainties and the closing of our CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE program.
It’s a testament to your dedication and resolve that together we continued to fulfill our mission with pride and passion. More than ever, I am deeply appreciative of – and inspired by – all you have accomplished and brought to our communities.
This winter break, I hope you take some time to reflect on and celebrate your many achievements from the past year. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus, the New Year or simply the spirit of the season, I wish you happy and healthy holidays filled with many warm and joyous moments with your loved ones.
