This FREE in-person, half-day workshop brings together researchers, UC Cooperative Extension advisors, PCAs, and other agricultural professionals to discuss current challenges and science-based solutions in vegetable production and integrated pest management (IPM) across both conventional and organic systems in the desert Southwest.

Program Topics Include

 Insect pest management

 Nematodes and soilborne diseases

 Weed management challenges

 Cover cropping

 Water and nitrogen management

 Food safety

The workshop emphasizes practical, field-relevant information to support informed decision-making, with a focus on IPM principles, risk prevention, and sustainability.

 

Continuing Education Units (Approved) 

• California DPR – 2 hours (Course I.D. Code: DPR-0716-26)

• Arizona Department of Agriculture – 2 hours (Course ID 26052)

• Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) – 4.0 hours (Tracking No.: CA 63665)

 

Continuing Education Credit Notice:

The workshop will be offered on two separate days at two different locations (Imperial County and Riverside County), with identical content at each location.  Attendees may participate in one or both days; however, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded for one day only, regardless of the number of days attended.
