These steps are for the 2025-2026 program year.

New Volunteer Steps: (Returning Volunteer? Scroll below this section.)

1. Complete the initial Interest Survey. Can be done at anytime.
2. Complete a Department of Justice/FBI Live Scan. Forms available at the 4-H office.
3. Submit adult enrollment in ZSuite. Adults will only select their Club. You will not select any projects at this time. Once available, the 4-H office will add projects in ZSuite and then add adults to their project(s).
4. Pay enrollment fee.
5. Complete 2025-2026 California 4-H New Adult Volunteer Course.

6. Sign up now & Complete New Adult Volunteer Orientation (NAVO) within 3 months of volunteerism.

   3. Wednesday, October 22, 2025  (6:00-9:00 via Zoom)
   4. Monday, November 17, 2025 (6:00-9:00 via Zoom)
   5. Monday, January 26, 2026 (6:00-9:00 via Zoom)
   6. Thursday, March 26, 2026 (6:00-9:00 via Zoom)
7. Project Leaders also need to complete the online 4-H Annual Project Plan or the printed 4-H Annual Project Plan (docx) and send to 4-H office before project can be listed in ZSuite for enrollment. A new plan is needed each year.

Returning Volunteer Steps:

1. Submit adult enrollment in ZSuite. Adults will only select their Club. You will not select any projects at this time. Once available, the 4-H office will add projects in ZSuite and then add adults to their project(s).
2. Pay enrollment fee.
3. Complete 2025-2026 California 4-H Returning Adult Volunteer Course.

4. Project Leaders also need to complete the online 4-H Annual Project Plan or the printed 4-H Annual Project Plan (docx) and send to 4-H office before project can be listed in ZSuite for enrollment. A new plan is needed each year. Consider what changes you may want on it that were not considered last year.
5. Although not required for returning adults, it is highly recommended that every adult volunteer complete the New Adult Volunteer Orientation (NAVO) if you have not done so before.
