Volunteer Resources

We offer our dedicated volunteers access to online tools, continuing education opportunities, and program guidance that support their service in local communities.

  • Volunteer Management System (VMS) – The Volunteer Management System (VMS) is an online system designed and built by the ANR Web Action Team. UC Master Gardener volunteers and coordinators use VMS to sign up for activities, enter volunteer hours, and manage projects, newsletters, documents, and photo albums.
  • UC Master Gardener Program Administrative Handbook – The Administrative Handbook for program staff and volunteers outlines the policies and procedures that govern the UC Master Gardener Program, an educational and public service component of the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR).
  • UC Master Gardener Thinking Safe and Green Notes are one-page summaries of information to help you stay healthy and safe and protect the environment while working in the garden. The UC Master Gardener Safety Manual guides volunteers on best practices to reduce the risk of injury or illness during UC Master Gardener-sponsored activities.
  • eXtension Campus – eXtension Campus is an online learning platform that supports the U.S. Cooperative Extension System. It offers live webinars and online courses on many topics, including Yard and Garden. Many of these learning opportunities are appropriate for UC Master Gardener volunteers seeking continuing education hours.
