About Us
The Urban Watershed Resilience Program connects water science, education, outreach, and partnerships to support healthier watersheds and more resilient communities across Southern California.
Our work focuses on the connections between water quality, water use efficiency, drinking water education, stormwater, watershed health, water supply security, and environmental resilience. In a region shaped by drought cycles, urban growth, climate pressures, and diverse community needs, we help translate research into practical knowledge, tools, and programs that support informed decision-making.
Through University of California Cooperative Extension, the program works with communities, public agencies, educators, youth, water professionals, and local partners to make water information more accessible, relevant, and useful. Our goal is to bridge the gap between science, policy, and community understanding while supporting sustainable water practices across urban and urban-agricultural landscapes.
