Achievement Test: 4-H Members will have the opportunity to take the Poultry Achievement Test. The study guide for levels one and two can be found at

Only members will be allowed into the testing area. If the 4-H member needs assistance during the test, there will be someone present to help them. Please plan accordingly during the show day.

Avian Influenza Updates

Statewide Ban on Poultry & Dairy Cattle Exhibitions FAQ Jan. 2025

As of early May 2026, California continues to manage highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 in both livestock and poultry, with recent data showing a sharp decrease in new cases from a peak in February. The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) lifted the statewide ban on poultry and dairy cattle exhibitions at fairs and shows, effective December 19, 2025

Poultry for the Fresno Fair

Fresno Fair Market Chicken Projects

The Fresno Fair has yet to make final determination on holding a market poultry show this year. However, orders will still be taken for market chicks.  The deadline for ordering chicks is Monday, June 15, 2026

Please mail orders to Kenny Borges, review informational sheet below for details. You can also drop off at the 4-H office, 550 E. Shaw Ave, Suite 100, Fresno, 93710. Orders must be filled out completely with member’s name, address, email and a cell phone contact number.  The below distribution date could change so you will need to watch your email or call to verify date and time.
